NetEase director insulted Bobby Kotick amid Blizzard scandal

A sharp conflict arose on the back of today’s news that Blizzard Studios has severed its relationship with Chinese publisher NetEase. It’s already come down to personal insults.

NetEase CEO Simon Zhu spoke unflatteringly and extremely rudely about Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, calling him a “dumbass.” The reaction followed the news that Blizzard games would stop being sold in the Middle Kingdom on January 23, 2023.

I feel shattered because next year I will no longer be able to have access to my account and memories.

One day, when you can tell what happened behind the scenes, developers and gamers will have a whole new level of understanding of the damage that one dumb person can do.

It’s really scary for those people who lived in those worlds.

Blizzard has already announced that the company is looking for new partners to release its games in the Chinese market.
