The Overwatch 2 patch is due out this week

A planned update to Overwatch 2, which will make some changes to enhance support and bring Mei back into active status, has been delayed for a while. A patch is now in development for the November 17 game at 11am PST / 2pm EST / 7pm GMT.

The patch was originally scheduled for November 15, but Blizzard reported a “critical issue” that had to be resolved before deployment, resulting in a two-day delay.

The Overwatch 2 update will include some changes aimed at helping support heroes act more effectively. These include a change that reduces the duration of Sombra’s “Hack” lock to reduce her lock time and make it so that hacked enemies can no longer be a “chain” target for enemies.

Mei also needs to be brought back into active play. Cold Meteorology was removed from games in late October because she couldn’t target correctly and could move back and forth on her ice wall. This is obviously not how ice walls are supposed to work.

As of right now, there are rewards for watching Overwatch League on the “main content update” list, which players could earn on Oct. 30 through Nov. 4. If you’ve been following the playoffs and were waiting for these skins on Nov. 17?
