Usually, this definition applies to all «creations» of Ice-Pick Lodge. Many are already familiar with their «Pathologic (The Marble Nest)», which simply blows the mind. But Pathologic 2 is something else entirely. Many players ask: what the hell is going on in this game and how can you even play it?

«Pathologic (The Marble Nest)» was an original game, representing a so-called art-thriller, which is not entirely clear but chosen by the developers themselves. In more familiar language for gamers, the game Pathologic (2005) is a simulator, RPG, action, and adventure all in one.

In the game, the protagonist finds himself in a city seriously affected by an unknown disease. The population is dying rapidly, not sparing even key characters. There are so many possible outcomes that predicting the ending is simply impossible, and any detail (action, conversation with a passerby, and more) can radically change the course of events. The entire path must be completed in 12 days, during which he will have to thoroughly study what is happening and the world around him. He will have to engage in trading and robbery, sometimes even resort to murder, but there is no other way. By the way, all the game characters are so colorful that there won’t be a dull moment.

First and foremost, the player needs to survive and, if possible, defeat the terrible plague that mercilessly decimates humanity. A large part of the game content will remain off-screen, but you can always change your approach to the game and discover it from a new perspective. Ahead are tough situations, difficult missions, and conditions that are practically impossible to survive. If you’re into that, it’s time to enjoy the remake of the legendary game «Pathologic (The Marble Nest)».

Genre — detective quest, role-playing game, survival simulator. Call it what you want, as there is no clear definition for «this». The main difficulty (as it is usually perceived) lies in the survival mechanics, which received the most complaints from players. It was precisely the survival elements that caused tears and complaints immediately after the game was released on the internet. To make the task easier, the developers released a special patch. It significantly simplifies the gameplay and allows you to adjust the difficulty levels. However, it is this patch that leads to the loss of the value of hardcore gameplay.

We haven’t fully decided whether to recommend it or not. Pathologic 2 is created «for a specific category of gamers», it’s just so unique.
