By its nature, In The Black ™ is an intense multiplayer team-based online simulator of space battles with a laser focus on combat actions and a serious respect for science. It has earned the Atomic Rocket’s Seal of Approval.
The game takes place in our Solar System 200 years in the future, where players are private military contractors (mercenaries) hired by megacorporations to fight secret wars for control over the system’s resources.
Impeller Studios is led by industry veterans Jack Mamais (MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, Far Cry, and Crysis) and David Wessman (X-Wing / TIE Fighter series, Blood Wake, and Saints Row).
We are all hardcore gamers ourselves. We believe that games should be skill-based and provide internal satisfaction. And we love the idea of flying on nuclear-powered rockets through Saturn’s rings to participate in the explosive chaos of high technology!
