The Past Within can only be played in multiplayer mode. To start the game, both players must have a copy of the game and the ability to communicate with each other. You can play with a friend next to you or find a partner on the official Rusty Lake Discord server.
The Past Within is a cooperative adventure set in the mystical world of Rusty Lake. In this interactive quest game, you and your opponent must collaborate to unravel mysteries and explore worlds from different perspectives. Discuss what you see and work together to solve puzzles and progress together. Enjoy a unique and engaging experience in The Past Within.
In The Past Within, you can play with a friend, each of you being in different worlds – the Past and the Future. Together, solve puzzles and help Rose fulfill her father’s plan. Additionally, you and your partner will be able to see your surroundings in both 2D and 3D representations, which is a new experience in the Rusty Lake universe.
The Past Within is available on various platforms: PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and will soon be available on Nintendo Switch. It is important that you and your partner can communicate with each other regardless of the platform.
The game consists of 2 chapters and takes about 2 hours to complete. However, to fully experience the game, it is recommended to replay it from a different perspective and try to find additional puzzle solutions.
