Blizzard has released a graph of World of Warcraft’s popularity from 2016 to 2024

At the GDC 2024 conference, the head of the franchise showed the online graph from the release of Legion to the Dragonflight addon.

The Shadowlands addon was the one that caused the online sag – it didn’t really add anything to the gameplay, and its plot was built around little-known characters of the universe.

Blizzard made conclusions and rolled out the Dragonflight addon, which was able to attract users to the project again.
