What is the difference between the 4th and 5th positions in Dota 2?

The obvious differences between the 4th and 5th positions lie in their roles within the team and resource allocation. The 4th position plays the role of a semi-carry, who can assist in killing enemy heroes and control the map, but also needs to collect some items to increase their effectiveness. The 5th position, on the other hand, plays the support role, who must take care of their allies, buy equipment to improve the team, and place wards to control the map. Another important remark is that this does not mean that the 4th position should buy wards instead of the 5th position if they do not have enough resources for their own development. If the 4th position is without gold, in practice this means that there will be two 5th positions in the team, which is equal to two free kills for the enemy. Such a situation can seriously complicate the game for the team and lead to defeat.
