April, 1945. The war is almost over, but your struggle is about to begin. You play as Gerda Larsen, a young nurse torn between her society and her desperate desire to save her husband Anders. The lives of many others will depend on your decisions.
Gerda’s Journey will be filled with moral dilemmas, difficult conversations, and challenging situations. It’s a dangerous world, and you must help her adapt to it by making decisions that will have both short-term and long-term consequences.
If you give precious resources to someone in need now, will you regret it later? Will there be consequences if you, as a nurse, help a suffering person who may later cause harm to others?
Make the most of what you have: your personal qualities, your connections, and your resources. Your relationships with people and factions will determine the development of your story. Increase Gerda’s intellectual abilities by reflecting on her experiences in her journal to earn personality skill points. Use these skills during events and conversations to unlock special actions, gain the trust of others, or avoid arousing suspicion.
You can choose where and when to conduct research, but do so wisely, as people move and events may be time-sensitive. As you explore and progress, your choices will lead you down different narrative paths. Will you do everything possible to save Anders, or will you fiercely defend your moral principles? Your actions will lead to several intriguing outcomes and alter the fate of your community in the game Gerda: A Flame in Winter.
