Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone Season 6
For the first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, a massive update is releasing today, September 29th, as part of the 6th season. Some of the in-game content is already available to gamers, and all other new additions are planned to be gradually added throughout the new season.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone Update, What’s New in the Game
This time, the creators of the shooter have outdone themselves. Numerous innovations and improvements are already waiting for gamers. Let’s take a look at the most significant innovations from the developers in both games.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Updates in Season 6
4 new battle locations:
- Game mode “Fireteam” (location: Station).
- Several classic 6v6 modes (map: Broadcast from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare).
- A couple more classic 6v6 and 10v10 modes (location: Mialstor Tank Factory).
- Game mode “Ground War” (map: Verdansk Riverside).
In addition to the locations, the game now features entirely new game modes:
- Killstreak Confirmed. An unusual variation of “Kill Confirmed,” where players will have to find tokens to collect the required kill streak.
- Gun Game TDM. Players will receive random weapons in Team Deathmatch Gun Game.
- HQ: Firefight. Playing as a team, the score will increase when holding the enemy and subsequently killing them. After the enemy headquarters is captured, respawn is disabled until the enemy team destroys the headquarters.
- Hardpoint: Hills and Kills. Similar to the previous mode, the team’s total score will increase when holding and killing the target, but respawn in this mode remains enabled.
Call of Duty: Warzone Updates in Season 6
Speaking of Warzone, there are currently 3 significant updates known (remember, these are not the last updates – they will be released as the season progresses):
- Now in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone, the metro allows for even faster movement across the map. In other words, we get a fully functional subway system.
- A new mode called Armored Royale has been implemented, a more dynamic variation of the Battle Royale, where each team now has access to cargo trucks.
- An updated weapon rotation, including 24 legendary, 13 rare, 18 epic, 6 common, and 10 uncommon weapons.
In addition to all of the above, there is information about new operators and the battle pass. We will add information about them as soon as the developers provide more details on these innovations.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone 1.27: Other Updates
In addition to the above updates, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone 1.27 also includes other improvements. As this is likely the last update for this 6th season, we can expect powerful innovations and an influx of content. So let’s dive deeper into all the novelties of the 6th season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.
The Transformed Roadmap
The roadmap for the latest season includes detailed descriptions of new locations, game modes, weapons, and operators that await gamers in the latest game update. The roadmap also contains information about new content that should be released in the coming weeks.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone Metro: How to Ride and Map
Perhaps the most significant update in Warzone is the advanced subway system. In the game, it’s aptly called “Metro,” and now you can quickly move from one point on the map to another using it.
However, using the “Metro” won’t allow you to venture outside the safe zone. Additionally, the train won’t move if a conflict situation arises inside any of the carriages.
Metro Map in Warzone
“Metro” stations will appear as separate small rooms unique to the chosen direction – from one platform, you can only travel in one direction until the next station.
You won’t be able to ride in circles across all game locations. After the start of the operation, gamers can use 7 stations, including:
- Airport.
- Train station.
- Shopping center.
- City center.
Changes in Multiplayer
In Season 6, gamers can expect 4 maps for multiplayer gameplay. 2 maps for 6v6 modes, one for “Gunfight” mode, and one for “Ground War.” Let’s take a closer look at them.
Gunfight
The battle takes place at the Castovsk Train Station. Gamers will have to take cover in old abandoned train carriages. You can also find other items here as cover.
Since the location is quite small and fairly “vertical,” you’ll need to find the position from which you can best see the enemy and engage in firefights.
6v6
Only Call of Duty veterans know what Broadcast is. Several transformations of this map have already been seen in previous seasons of Modern Warfare and Warzone.
But regardless of whether you’re a veteran or a newcomer, you’ll enjoy playing on Broadcast – another remake of the famous location that remains relevant.
Tank Factory (6v6 and 10v10)
The Tank Factory is presented in the form of 2 maps – a smaller one and a larger one. On the larger map, you can battle in both 6v6 and 10v10 modes. If you remember the gameplay of Black Ops Cold War that somehow leaked onto the internet, then this map was featured. Whether these locations will coincide or if it was just testing remains unknown.
Ground War
And finally, in Verdansk, you can now try your hand at Ground War. The location is near a river, which is located not far from Verdansk Airport. This map stretches all the way to the Peak Arklow base.
Season 6 Events in Warzone
In Season 5, gamers were offered the “Summer Games” event, where they had to participate in races and complete tasks within strict time limits.
In Season 6, we can also expect a Halloween-themed event starting on October 20th. There is very little information about it so far, but we are confident that the developers will delight us with a new “Night Mode” in Warzone.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® & Warzone Zombie Mode on 30.09.2020 – Will It Happen?
According to the latest information from the Director of Gameplay for Modern Warfare and Warzone, Jacob Minkoff, gamers should not expect a cooperative zombie mode in this season.
According to the developer, in the 6th installment of the franchise, they have created a highly realistic New World that intersects with many contemporary issues and real-world conflicts. Zombies would be overly out of place in this context.
However, fans of cooperative modes need not worry – in addition to single-player and multiplayer modes, the game will feature a cooperative battle. “I’m not ready to talk about the cooperative mode yet, but I can say that the single-player story will smoothly transition into cooperative gameplay,” Minkoff explained.
