Cheaters in CS:GO – Why Do They Get Caught?

Why do you encounter cheaters in CS:GO? It’s simple – some players don’t want to practice and develop real skills in combat. Instead, they prefer to use special programs (such as AIM-bots, which allow them to aim directly at the enemy’s head), enabling them to get maximum kills without much effort.

Most cheaters in CS:GO are found in Competitive mode. How can you identify them? There are several ways:

  • When playing in Competitive mode, you are more likely to encounter cheaters. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to this problem because the game currently lacks effective anti-cheat measures in this mode (developers are working on it).
  • If you don’t have Prime status, you are at a higher risk of encountering cheaters in the game. This is because without Prime, you will be matched with unverified players or those who have recently created accounts. As a result, the risk of encountering a cheater who just joined the game for fun increases.
  • If you want to avoid encountering cheaters in CS:GO, remember the Trust Factor – a game metric that indicates a player’s trustworthiness. Meeting a player with a very low Trust Factor significantly increases the likelihood of encountering a cheater or a “toxic” player.
  • Of course, in the vast majority of cases, cheaters are players who simply lack skill. They often join matches on the two most common maps – de_mirage and de_dust2. You are more likely to encounter cheaters in CS:GO on these maps than on, for example, Vertigo.

The above list includes the main factors that can lead to encountering cheaters in the game.

If you don’t know how to stop encountering cheaters in CS:GO, the following information will help you reduce the risks of encountering dishonest players in the game. The information mentioned above will assist us in achieving this goal. Of course, these methods do not provide a 100% guarantee, but they significantly reduce the chances of encountering dishonest players.

Let’s go:

  1. Forget about Competitive mode and play Faceit or Esea. These modes have anti-cheat protection because they use additional software.
  2. Get Prime status. You can buy it for just over 1,000 rubles, but it significantly helps in dealing with cheaters, especially in Competitive mode, as there are no other solutions.
  3. Increase your Trust Factor. To avoid encountering cheaters in CS:GO, you can simply raise your Trust Factor by asking for commendations from your team members. This approach may seem a bit like begging but it has a real effect.
  4. Choose less popular maps. Dust 2 and Mirage are not the only maps in the game. Therefore, try playing on other maps – there are fewer cheaters in CS:GO on less popular maps.
