CS:GO Will Be Ported to Source 2

For the first time in 7 years, there’s some confirmation of the rumors, but there’s still no official information. However, Valve has always stated that players won’t notice a significant difference with the transition, as it’s more for modders working on the game.

The transition to the new Source 2 engine has not happened yet, and it’s being done by different people who have worked on CS:GO. So, the system part might take a while, and in some areas, they may have to rewrite everything from scratch. However, data miner Gabe Follower has already found the first mentions of CS:GO in Source 2.

In a recent Dota 2 update, a new attachment/function called “CSGO Sticker Position” for ModelDoc was added.

This is the first direct mention of @CSGO in official Source 2 tools.
