Maincast switches to Ukrainian: no more broadcasts in Russian

The Maincast studio has decided to give up the rights to cover ESL tournaments in Russian, focusing on the development of Ukrainian-language broadcasts. However, according to Vitaly “v1lat” Volochay, Maincast has already conveyed its message to the Russian-speaking audience and no longer sees the point in communicating with them. In recent months, the company has been actively developing the Ukrainian-language segment and wants to create even better content in Ukrainian.

To achieve this goal, Maincast has decided to waive the rights to broadcast in other languages, including Russian. According to the co-owner of the company, Vitaly v1lat Volochay, it is inappropriate to spend resources on Russian-language broadcasts, since they have already completed their mission and conveyed their message to the audience in Russian.

Recall that Maincast bought the rights to Russian-language broadcasts of eSports tournaments until 2027 with the goal of “destroying Russian studios once and for all.” However, now the company is completely switching to the Ukrainian language and the Ukrainian audience.
