Skyline emulator for Nintendo Switch on Android successfully runs 2D games

Skyline is an emulator of the Nintendo Switch console for Android devices. Unfortunately, the emulator is not available for iOS devices, although some fans are trying to create a similar program for this platform. If you want to be able to emulate the Nintendo Switch and you have a device with a Snapdragon 870 processor, you can try Skyline.

A Reddit user with the nickname “u/sotosmatthew” found that Skyline is capable of running 2D games like Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight and SteamWorld Heist at 60 Hz frame rate. If you have a Snapdragon 870 processor and it’s built on the ARMv8 architecture, you can also try running these games. To find out information about your system, you can use the Droid Hardware Info program. Modern MediaTek, Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets should support games and programs for ARMv8.

Gaming smartphones with proper optimization and the right settings are capable of running 3D games, as shown in TechUtopia’s YouTube video. The word “Skyline” is synonymous with “Horizon,” the code name for the Nintendo Switch system.
