Powerful guide for Call of Duty: Warzone – useful tips and secrets.

The game Call of Duty: Warzone appeared in the gaming community quite unexpectedly. Therefore, many players did not immediately understand its “essence” as there were no guides available: how to level up solo, how to play in pairs rather than 3v3, how rare weapons enhance the gameplay, what the Gulag is, what mechanics are in the “Battle Royale,” and more.

So, we decided to gather everything together and provide answers to the most common questions (and more). But before we start reading, let’s clarify a very important detail. Warzone is an entirely free version of the game that can be launched on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and each platform has its nuances.

For example, if you want to play on Xbox, you’ll need Xbox Live Gold, but if you plan to run Warzone on PS4, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required. You can easily download the PC version from the game’s main website using the BattleNet client, but regardless of the platform, you’ll need to create an Activision account.

Happy owners of the full version of Call of Duty: Warzone can launch the “Battle Royale” right from the main menu of the game. In addition, such players have many other advantages over “freeloaders,” including Battle Pass level boosts and skin transfers.

If you’ve never played CoD: Warzone before and are used to battle royale mode or transitioned from Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG, or Blackout, the recommendations below will help you focus on in-game actions rather than the peculiarities of Warzone. The main thing is to read carefully and try to remember the key points.

Health Regenerates Automatically

In Call of Duty: Warzone, the use of healing items is almost completely eliminated, as is common in all Battle Royale games. This means that if you don’t take any damage from enemies for a certain period, your health points (HP) will automatically start regenerating up to their maximum.

Additionally, in Warzone, you can find a special item called Stim Shot, which is displayed in the tactical slot and can instantly heal you when used. This item is the only semblance of a medkit in Warzone.

However, you should remember that automatic health regeneration is impossible if you are inside the gas circle.

Parachute Jumps: Mechanics

In CoD: Warzone, there is a parachute landing system. It’s easy to use, even for beginners. However, you need to get used to controlling the parachute itself because in Warzone, like in PUBG, you can pull the straps to adjust the landing speed and trajectory.

In Warzone, you have the unique ability to cut the straps and simply freefall, just like in real life. When you cut the straps, you can achieve a much faster falling speed, then open the backup parachute to slow your descent just before landing.

This feature has no limitations—you can use it as many times as you want. It is useful for quickly reaching a destination ahead of your opponents.

Another crucial point is that you can deploy your parachute after jumping from any high point at any time, which can be advantageous when you need to quickly escape from someone. However, be cautious as your character is entirely vulnerable to enemy fire during the flight.

Pick Up All Ammunition

Comparing Apex Legends, PUBG, and Warzone, the latter does not have a conventional inventory system. You can carry as many weapons as you want simultaneously and use them in combat. Ammunition works more straightforwardly in Warzone as well.

You can carry as much ammo as you want for each weapon type, but only up to its maximum capacity (which varies for each weapon). For example, you may not need to use a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher, but it’s still better to have a supply of ammo for these weapons, just in case.

Ammunition Types

In total, ammunition in Warzone is divided into 5 types:

  1. For assault rifles.
  2. For pistols.
  3. For sniper rifles.
  4. For shotguns.
  5. For rocket launchers.

You won’t have to worry about the caliber or any other parameters of ammunition. Therefore, the advice is simple: pick up absolutely everything you see and comes “in handy.”

Markers

If you have previously played Apex Legends, you understand how useful the ping system can be. In Warzone, things are somewhat similar, and you must take full advantage of this system.

With a single button press, you can mark a specific location on the map for all members of your team to see. You can also mark specific items, other players, objectives, and more. This is especially useful in Warzone, as it’s a cross-platform game, and not all team members may have access to voice chat or headphones with microphones.

However, Warzone doesn’t incorporate all the advantages of the ping system seen in Apex Legends. For example, you won’t be able to communicate to your team that “an enemy was here” and so on.

Weapon “Rarity”

Warzone differs from other battle royale games in that it doesn’t have the classic weapon looting mechanics, especially when compared to games like Apex Legends or PUBG. It features an arcade-style weapon system similar to Fortnite.

While exploring the map, you can find various options for weapons, including:

  • Common;
  • Uncommon;
  • Rare;
  • And so on.

The “rarity level” is indicated by small diamonds next to the name of a specific weapon. For example, the smallest diamond means you found a completely “bare” weapon with no attachments. The most rare and “powerful” weapons have 5 attachment slots (meaning extended magazines, scopes, etc.).

From a technical point of view, if we take an example like the M4, regardless of its rarity, it will deal the same damage to an enemy. However, depending on the attachments on that M4, the statement above may not always be true. For instance, if a suppressor or an extended barrel is attached, the damage can vary based on the distance from which you are shooting. Therefore, even the rarest weapon may not be as effective for long-range shots as a less rare one, and vice versa.

Armor System

Each character starts the game with 2 armor plates, and upon respawning after being killed, they also have these 2 armor plates. One armor plate is equivalent to 50 HP, meaning you always start with 200 health points.

Armor plates can be found scattered around the map and can be picked up as loot. Additionally, they sometimes drop from killed enemies.

You can carry a maximum of 5 armor plates in addition to your armor vest. As your armor vest gets damaged, you can use these plates to restore the lost armor.

It’s crucial in Warzone to pay attention to how you use armor. For example, one armor plate can restore up to 100% of one armor segment. So, if you have 1.5 armor segments and use 1 plate for restoration, the armor indicator will show 2.5 segments.

Money – The Most Important Resource

Almost all active actions you perform in Warzone earn you money. Additionally, you can find money by exploring locations and by eliminating enemies (loot).

Money can also be earned through contracts. Contracts are small and relatively simple mini-missions that require you to complete specific tasks.

There are several types of contracts in the game, and each of them involves completing a specific set of actions, such as killing enemies, searching crates, moving from point A to point B, and more.

Money Usage in Warzone

In Warzone, money is needed for various purposes, such as calling in killstreaks, purchasing Drop Kits, and reviving fallen teammates in battle. It’s always better to have more money because, even in this game, “money talks.” Many questions and problems can be solved with it.

Team Contracts

Warzone features three main types of contracts:

  1. Bounty.
  2. Scavenger.
  3. Recon.

If you choose the “Bounty” contract, your task will be to eliminate a specific player whose nickname will be displayed in the gamer’s interface on the left side of the screen. On the full map, you’ll see a small yellow circle indicating the approximate location of your target.

The “Recon” contract mostly requires you to capture a specific domination point. A reward is given upon successfully capturing it.

If you opt for the “Scavenger” contract, you’ll need to open 3 crates containing loot (sometimes quite valuable). These crates are also marked on the map.

The great news about contracts in Warzone is that anyone in your team can participate in completing the mission (helping you in its execution).

Moreover, after completing a contract, you receive a monetary reward, which depends on the type and complexity of the mission. So, there’s always something to do in the game during breaks between intense battles.

The Ins and Outs of the Gulag

After being killed for the first time in the game (typically when there are around 60 players left), you’ll be sent to the Gulag, an in-game prison where you have to engage in a 1-on-1 fight against another recently deceased player.

During this fight, your teammates can watch from the stands, cheering you on or throwing stones at your opponent. While this doesn’t deal any damage or heal your health, it adds an entertaining element to the game.

The victor of the Gulag battle will be redeployed back to the main location but without weapons and money. The player who loses the 1-on-1 fight may also be redeployed back into the battlefield, but only if their allies pay the ransom at a Buy Station.

Obtaining Perks in Warzone

Perks, which are available in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare, can also be found in Warzone. However, unlike the first version of CoD, you can only obtain them through loadouts (Loadouts) or airdrop kits.

Loadouts can be called in artificially at Buy Stations or awaited as drops from the sky. However, each character can count on obtaining perks and weapons they are familiar with.

It’s worth noting one very important point — not all perks in Warzone function the same way as in Modern Warfare.

Solo or Duo: How to Play Warzone

If you’re used to playing solo or want to try playing with a partner (duo), you can edit the option displayed in the screenshot below by changing “Fill” to “Don’t Fill” or vice versa:

By activating the “Don’t Fill” option, you can invite your friend to your group and try your skills in Warzone battles together. If you choose “Fill,” you will be placed in a solo mode. However, with the latter option, you will always be placed in a mode with teams of 3 players.
