Once the developers of Fortnite: Battle Royale decided to launch a new free mode, the game gained even more popularity than ever before. It’s likely that the folks at Epic Games took inspiration from PUBG’s approach, subsequently implementing the ability to play in squads or duos in Fortnite.

How to Play in Duos in Fortnite: Battle Royale? Launch the game client and wait for the main menu to appear. You’ll then see a list of all available modes, including “Duo” and “Squad”. Simply enter one of these modes and:

1. Either invite friends to the game.
2. Or opt for automatic team selection.

To play with friends, click on an empty slot and choose from the list of available friends whom you wish to invite to the group. However, remember that the “Duo”, “Squad”, and regular modes are separate, so you can’t enter a classic mode and then start assembling a team of 2-4 characters.

Why Play in Duos and Squads in Fortnite: Battle Royale

It’s quite logical that if you have an “extra pair of eyes” (or even several such pairs), they can greatly assist you during the game, for instance, covering you while you search a specific location. Additionally, squad or duo members can revive each other.

Another Important Point: If you opt for random player slot filling and disregard auto-fill, you’ll find yourself in the worst possible scenario right after the battle begins.
