Apex Legends Bans 2,000 Cheaters for “Dashboarding” in Ranked Games.

Respawn Entertainment has taken a strong stand against cheating in Apex Legends, banning over 2,000 players for misconduct during ranked matches. These players were found using various cheating tactics, including “dashboarding,” during competitive gameplay.

Conor Ford, the Security Manager for Apex Legends, took to Twitter to announce that a total of 2,086 players were banned for exploiting issues during the ongoing ranked competitions. Specifically, they were manipulating the matchmaking system, allowing higher-ranked players to enter lower-tier lobbies, such as Bronze.

Ford conducted a breakdown of the banned accounts based on gaming platforms, revealing that the majority of the offenders were on PlayStation 4, accounting for 1,965 bans. While the duration of each ban varies depending on the violation, Ford hinted that these players would likely miss the launch of the new season as a consequence.
