Assassin’s Creed Mirage story will not be more than 15-20 hours

The developers of the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage promised gamers a return to the roots of the series, and one of the factors of this return will be the length of the new game, which will be significantly shorter than the 150+ hours of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. Assassins Creed executive producer Marc-Alexis Cote told the IGN website.

“This is a smaller [than previous] Assassin Creed projects. The game was conceived [and] created to celebrate the 15th anniversary [of the series]. That’s why we’re using our modern engine from Valhalla to create a smaller project that pays homage to the original game, focusing more on stealth, melee, parkour and a densely built-up city that takes us back to our roots in the Middle East with Baghdad at its center,” Cote said.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will last 15 to 20 hours, about the same length as the first games in the series. That’s why Mirage’s price tag is lower than the other games – only $50 versus the $70 that has already become standard for AAA projects.

Also in the same interview Mr. Cote said that another recently announced game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, will not be an RPG. However, the executive producer has not yet disclosed its genre.

And now some rumors and scandals, as Ubisoft is without scandals. Rumors have surfaced that Assassin Creed Mirage will be rated AO, that is Adults Only, and it has to do with gamebling, that is loot boxes. Ubisoft denies everything and says it’s a mistake. The AO note was on the game’s Xbox store page, now it’s gone.

And the cherry on the cake. Some developers from Ubisoft Quebec seemingly asked to take them off Assassin Creed Project Red (the next big game in the series after Mirage) because the game’s creative director Jonathan Dumont was accused of creating a toxic atmosphere, harassment and disrespect for women. It’s surprising that such an odious figure was entrusted with such an important project for the company at all.

Well, where Ubisoft is, there are scandals. Sometimes they work as advertising, sometimes they don’t. As, for example, disrespect to Ukrainian players.
