Zombies in Verdansk (Warzone)

The updated patch that was released on February 25, 2021, in Call of Duty: Warzone introduced new weapons and a location in Verdansk. To be more precise, the ship “Vodyanoy” sailed to the island.

Previously, it was observed near the shores of the “Rebirth Island” location. The developers took care of the storyline and brought such a complex easter egg into the game. As a reminder, for those who might not know, there was a yellow door, and players found a locked door that opened with a password. We wrote about it in a previous article, which you can read here.

Returning to the fact that “Vodyanoy” moved with its crew and sailed to Verdansk over the past few years. It entered the port but couldn’t handle the navigation, and a large part of the ship ended up on the shore. Its exact location since March 11 is on the southeast part of the map, near the prison.

Players went to check the location, and as it turned out, there are no survivors there, but there are a bunch of disgruntled zombies. The transfer of zombies to Verdansk is directly related to the “Rebirth” event, which could be played for two weeks. It took the zombies that long to capture another location, become stronger and smarter.

At the moment, they are located in the Hospital area. Zombies only appear after a strong audio signal when you press the activate button on a special terminal, which calls a horde of zombies. If brave players manage to survive the wave and destroy 40 zombified urban soldiers, they will receive a yellow key card that they can use near the terminal in the golden chest. This will grant them access to valuable equipment such as precious weapons, killstreaks, a bag with cash, and a legendary gas mask. But don’t forget about attacks from other players on the map when someone calls the zombies. It is displayed to all operators on the map. You need to watch both ways and stay vigilant because unwanted guests may come.

At the moment, zombies have taken over a small part of Verdansk, but it’s possible that the game developers are planning an invasion across the entire map. Where will zombies appear in Warzone after the hospital? Presumably, their next appearance will be at the Train Station or Airport. A full-scale undead takeover of the city may be linked to the constant craving for new flesh. In addition to all this, the authorities in Verdansk are already preparing for a disaster, keeping nuclear warheads ready. According to insiders, the event will take place in April, towards the end of Season 2.
