KZ Not One Step Back Gaming: Disqualification from Dota Pro Circuit 2023
Paragon Events, the operator of the DOTA Pro Circuit 2023 tournament in Eastern Europe, announced the disqualification of the Kazakh team KZ Not One Step Back Gaming (Overkill~, b4x4zZz, Clackson, Kohxi, HardL). The team secured a place in the second division by passing both open and closed qualifiers.
The disqualification followed allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct by team member Kohxi. An investigation into the match between Esports Club Grozny and Alis Ventous, which took place on August 3, 2022 in Epl S2, revealed that Kohxi intentionally allowed his character to die in order to tie the final score.
In addition, another team member, B4x4zzz, was found to have sold accounts, further damaging the team’s reputation. The results of the investigation were forwarded to Valve, which approved the removal of the team from the tournament. A replacement for the team will be announced shortly.
Paragon Events would like to thank Nemiga Gaming’s manager, zverHDD, for his assistance with the investigation. If you have any information about unsportsmanlike conduct in the EEU DPC, you can send it to [email protected].
