End Date of Dota 2 Season 4 Ranked Games.
The rating seasons in Dota 2, which have been taking place so far, on average lasted seven months. The 4th Dota 2 season may end in September 2020.
Valve does not provide any information about the ranked season duration in the game client. However, they usually announce it on the official Dota 2 Twitter a few weeks before its end. I will update this page and the countdown as soon as fresh news appears.
Update 1
Wykrhm Reddy announced that the battle pass will be released at the beginning of next week (last week of May).
Usually, Dota 2 updates take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Therefore, I think the BP will be released on May 26. We don’t yet know if it will start a new Dota 2 season. But this is the most reliable forecast.

The official Dota 2 Twitter announced that tomorrow, May 25, we will have a new battle pass.
Update 3
The battle pass did not mark the beginning of a new Dota 2 season. Now predicting the end date of the season is extremely difficult because Valve does not stick to the initial 6-month duration, and we have no clues left.
The 4th Dota 2 season started in September 2019, and the BP will end on September 19, 2020, so I think the current season could last a whole year.
It’s impossible to predict the exact day, so the countdown below is just an approximate value, but keep in mind that the season could end even in a few weeks or a month!

Rating Seasons and Valve Time
Valve introduced rating seasons in the Dueling Fates update in November 2017. They announced that each season would last six months, but so far, “Valve Time” has affected their actual end date.
Below, you can find the approximate duration of each season:
- 1st season: 6 and a half months
- 2nd season: 7 and a half months
- 3rd season: 8 months
4th Dota 2 Season: End Date
I don’t think the 4th season will be longer than the 3rd: many players complained about its duration, expecting it to end a month earlier (right after TI9).
It seems that currently, the average duration is seven months, so the 4th season could end in May or June 2020. Instead, if Valve decides to follow the initial six-month rule, it will end in early spring, in March.
End Date of Season 3
Considering all the information and data available to us, the third rating season should end in August, as it started on January 29, 2019.
August is a special month for Dota 2 players because of The International, and I am almost sure that Valve will not release a new season until after their main tournament ends.
Overall, the start of the 4th season can be expected at the end of August or in September 2019.
If they decide to launch it after the new annual patch, we may have to wait a few more months. The previous two major updates – 7.07 and 7.20 – were released on October 31, 2017, and November 19, 2018, respectively.
