Valve permanently banned over 40,000 Dota accounts tonight

Over 40,000 DOTA accounts have been permanently banned by Valve tonight.

It’s all about using third-party software that allowed you to view hidden statistics, replace game files, maphack and other third-party programs.
Valve found out where the players get information about the game client. The “bait” was data that was requested only by programs that give an unfair advantage.

“All accounts banned today requested access to this data, which is why we are confident that each of the locks is deserved,” commented the developers
