Let’s reminisce about the year 2018 when the city-building simulator with survival elements, Frostpunk, stormed into Steam’s top charts and instantly secured strong positions in the market. The narrative of humans constructing a city amidst icy landscapes resonated with many. The atmosphere was intense, and the need to make autonomous decisions in extreme situations appealed to numerous gamers, keeping them glued to their computers for hours on end.

A year later, developers either aimed to solidify their success or delight fans with a revamped version, releasing the game on PS4 and Xbox One. Both versions once again garnered success and received high praises from fans. Naturally, a high-quality and precise port is hard to overlook, earning the game recognition across various gamer categories.

However, as is often the case post-launch, there’s either a lull or a decline. Such was the trajectory for this game. Then, in 2020, the creators announced their attempt to port the game to mobile devices. There’s little doubt that they know what they’re doing, and the execution will be top-notch. All that remains for us is to wait a bit. Yet, we’ve already included it in the list of best mobile games for 2021.
