Interpol is on the pole of the MapleStory pirate server

When a group of enthusiasts launched a pirate server for the popular MMORPG MapleStory, they probably didn’t realize that their adventure would lead to an international manhunt. It all started when South Korean company Nexon, the developer of the original game, discovered the illegal use of their product and decided to protect their copyrights through the courts.

The case reached a boiling point when police raided the location where the server was located. Four participants were arrested on charges of violating the Copyright Act and the Gaming Industry Act. However, one of the key players was able to evade justice by crossing the country’s border.

International manhunt in the gaming world

Now Interpol is after him, and Nexon is pushing for damages, demanding payment of the entire amount earned from the pirated server. This was a reminder to everyone that the law is just as valid in the world of virtual entertainment as it is in the real world.

The MapleStory pirate server case was a serious lesson for many, illustrating how important it is to abide by the law even in the virtual world. Who knows what other twists and turns await the characters in this story in the future?
