Players who have become bored with Team Fortress 2 have decided to switch to another equally good game, namely Overwatch. And it’s logical, Overwatch is a newer game, so the younger generation of gamers prefers it. In many aspects, Team Fortress 2 is inferior to its more modern counterpart, at least in terms of characters. In the 2016 game, team play is much better developed, and all characters have more unique abilities and special skills. It can take a lot of time to study each of them.

Like other projects of the game studio, Overwatch has many interesting game modes that gamers enjoy playing. The dynamics and vividness of the game will constantly keep you engaged. You are unlikely to be able to distract yourself from the game during battles, and if you do, instant death is guaranteed.

Overwatch is an online game for those who love first-person shooters. It is developed by Blizzard Entertainment and is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC since the end of May 2016, and since mid-October 2019, it is also available for Nintendo Switch.

Before starting the game, you need to choose a hero who will play for one of the two teams (each consisting of 6 people). You can change your hero during the game if desired, and the list of heroes is regularly updated with new additions. Currently, there are 32 heroes, each belonging to one of three possible classes: support, damage, or tank. The player has 29 maps to choose from for battles. During the game, Overwatch players will have to capture new points, escort payloads, and explore arcade or hybrid modes. On average, a match lasts about 20 minutes.

The classic ranking system of Overwatch does not prevent players from getting the maximum enjoyment from the process. All beginners must go through calibration – 10 matches. Depending on the outcome of the game, players are assigned corresponding ranks, ranging from bronze to elite. Each region has its own top 500 players. There are 6 seasons held annually, and at the end of each season, all rank data is reset.

Since 2019, players have not only had access to the ranking system but also to the “Role Queue” system. Here, the ranking progress is done separately for each role. During calibration, players have to play 5 matches using representatives of all classes.

Blizzard Entertainment actively promotes the development of esports, and since 2018, anyone can participate in the Overwatch League. It is an international closed-type esports league that operates on the model of North American sports analogs. The league has its regular season and playoffs. The prize pool for the Overwatch League in 2020 amounted to over $4 million.
