Rainbow Six Siege Reworks Maps, Introduces Solo Ranked, and Teases a Sequel.

Summing Up the Ubisoft AMA Session

On the evening of July 22nd, Ubisoft held an AMA conference with fans of “Rainbow Six Siege.” Many gamers prefer the shooter genre. In this article, you will read about the popular gaming project funded by Ubisoft. If you are already familiar with it, you may find some interesting information about updates and future plans for the game. The creators answered many questions about balance, maps, and ranking, and shared a bit about the title and how to overcome it. We have highlighted the key moments from the French studio’s conference with users.

Rework of Existing Maps – 3 in 1

In the 6th year of content, season 3, some maps will be changed. The developers noted that the most important thing is to perfect the maps in terms of technology and graphics. Reworking three maps equals one major change. What exactly will change is not known yet, but it is said that these will be subtle changes. Don’t expect any major overhauls. They may remove some spawn points.

Shooting Range as a Training Option

This will be a new game mode where players can practice before entering a match. However, this location will not be the main place for warm-up. Developers are working on an enhanced version of such a location. There will be many features available. Players will be able to warm up properly before a battle and get good training. It is expected that several different modules are being developed. The designer also shared that the team has many ideas. Players will be able to test damage, practice various destructions, refine their strikes and shots. All of this will be in the updated Shooting Range location. However, this place will not teach those who are playing for the first time. It will be more suitable for gamers who want to hone their skills. “But we try to make it so that players of all levels can learn and improve,” the studio believes.

Game Director Christopher Badgen

New maps are almost ready. Unisoft believes that the map pool has been significantly changed.

The creators said that they will try to add updated and entirely new maps. At the moment, attention should be paid to the development of locations. Updates will gradually be released.

Two Types of Ranked Queues

Siege is considering two options for the game’s development. For now, it’s causing some difficulties, but it will be resolved soon.

Players don’t like the fact that when they enter ranked, the opposing team consists of 5 players. The creators are still thinking about how to fix this. Currently, there are two options:

1- Players will have the option to choose solo or team queues. In team queues, you can choose two, three players, or a full Squad. However, the downside will be that server matchmaking will not happen immediately, and you will have to wait for a certain time. The quality of teammates may also be lower.

2- The second option is a queue system. The experience and level of the player will be taken into account, and it will be easier to play in a squad than alone. However, squads will compete against experienced solo players. Thus, there will be no classification of players.

Toxic Players and What to Do with Them

To solve this problem, organizers are considering implementing a deathmatch mode. The main task of this mode is to eliminate all opponents. Such a mode in the game will help freshen up the atmosphere and players in general, and for this, they are creating designated locations. They want to come up with something simple for testing and practice. We probably first heard about it at the end of spring 2020. Then the information surfaced from an unknown source, but it was not confirmed. At a recent conference, the main representatives provided an extensive answer to such a question, addressing the audience and its toxicity.

What to Expect from the PC Game in the Future? Will the Tactical Shooter Change Beyond Recognition?

Based on the session where they talked about the game’s plans, we can say that the shooter will continue to exist for many more years. Although the authors have not explicitly stated whether there will be a sequel or not, we can hope for one since the game is popular. Also, the developers added that over time, Siege will be changed beyond recognition.

Whether this is good or bad, we will see in the future. The community has invested a lot of money, work, and effort into the project. Their diligence should not go to waste. Ubisoft itself likened all of this to renovating an old house. Presumably, the creators will fix all bugs and errors, and the game will become even better. As a pleasant bonus, the studio announced that it plans to add more operators to the shooter.
