Minecraft 1.20.5: First Pre-Release Announced, No Major Changes Expected

The Java version development team of the popular game Minecraft has announced the first pre-release of update 1.20.5. This patch serves as a precursor to the next major update, 1.21, which was revealed at the Minecraft Live event at the end of 2023.

With the launch of this pre-release, developers have integrated all planned features and are now focusing on fixing remaining bugs. No further significant changes will be introduced in this update.

Among the technical innovations introduced in update 1.20.5 are changes that prepare for the functionalities of the upcoming major update. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to test a number of new game mechanics added to this version.

The 1.20.5 update introduces trial halls and sinister events, enriching the gameplay. Encounters with a new mob called the Whirlwind, the ability to use wind charges and maces, and the variety of wolf variants will enhance players’ experiences.

Key Changes in Minecraft 1.20.5 Pre-Release:

1. Hall No. 6 in the trial halls has been completely revamped.
2. The positioning of the underground trial halls has been changed.
3. A new trap has been added to the trial halls.
4. Mobs in sinister events often appear with enchanted items, but killed mobs will not drop equipment.
5. In 50% of cases, the spawners in sinister events will target players with projectiles, not mobs.

Additionally, the update introduces new achievements, such as obtaining armadillo shields and repairing wolf armor. Various gameplay bugs have also been fixed, and the ability to fly in creative mode has been reactivated.
