Data miner ThourCS has decided to stir the pot regarding unfair gameplay in CS 2. According to him, at least two players from the elite top-14 rankings are more than willing to tap into the “dark side” and team up with a cheater.
So, if you take a look at the global leaderboard, you’ll spot an interesting character named Rustic. This guy doesn’t even qualify as a tier-5 player, but here’s the kicker—he has a 100% win rate in the premier mode. How is that even possible? ThourCS provided a clip where Rustic is having a good time in the company of a friend who is clearly using cheats. And by the way, one of ThourCS’s friends has already fallen victim to them.
The most intriguing part is that the players occupying the 8th and 14th spots in the global rankings are members of this “miracle team.” And no, Rustic himself is not a cheater. He’s just being pushed up the ranking ladder while his cheater friend does all the dirty work.
As evidence to back up his claims, ThourCS published a video where the cheater effortlessly spots the location of opponents through walls and easily wins rounds.
On a side note, ThourCS has made interesting discoveries before. For instance, he found out that map loading in CS 2 is twice as fast as in the previous version of the game, CS:GO. The loading time has been reduced from 32 to 16 seconds, and both shooters were launched from the same SSD drive.
So, folks, be cautious and don’t fully trust the rankings. As we can see, even the top spots can harbor some “dark horses.”
