The Hunter: Call of the Wild 2024 Beginner’s Guide

Councils and recommendations. Getting Started Guide and Advanced Guide. Tips, tricks and everything I know. Also added a new part of Hirschfelden. New part of dlcs. Along with the shooting placement and the harvest screen part I added earlier. If I said something wrong in English, correct me in the comments.

Beginning . In this guide, I will teach you all the skills that I know at the moment. If you think that I should add any more materials, leave them in the comments.

Leighton Lake

Then you start at Leyton Lake. There are many types, and you need to know them if you want to master them all before you start.

Your starting rifle: Ranger .243

Ranger .243 : The Ranger .247 is your first rifle. This rifle has an Ascent 1-4 x 24 scope and a .243 Soft-Point Bullet. Cartridges .243 can destroy animals of 2-6 classes. The effective range is 164.04 yards or 150 meters. This bullet kills most deer, foxes, coyotes and wild boars. You can also refer to the animal classes in the codex if you go out into the wild. The .243 rounds have a penetration of 15.00 and an expansion of 17. We’ll talk about penetration and expansion later.

The .243 Ranger has an accuracy of 78, a recoil of 46, a reload speed of 49, a rapid fire accuracy of 76, and a five-round magazine. You can also find information about Ranger .243 if you press escape and go to inventory.
Your starting shotgun: Caversham Steward 12G
You also start with a shotgun, Caversham Steward 12G. Accuracy 33, Recoil 82, Reload Speed 69, Hipshot 88, and Magazine Capacity 2.

Caversham 12G comes with 12 GA buckshot. The Buckshot 12 GA has a range of 27.34 yards, 5.00 penetration, 0.00 expansion, and recommended grades 2-5.

Your starting pistol: 357 focus.

The last starting pistol you get is the Focoso 357. This pistol has an accuracy of 55, a recoil of 64, a reload speed of 10, a Hipshot of 100, and a magazine capacity of 6 rounds.

A starter kit that includes bells, binoculars and more.

Before going to sea, you need to know your equipment. You don’t want to just run out into the street like the primal ape who first saw the stone, you want to know what you have and how to use it. The first ringer on our list is the deer ringer “Bleat”.

The species affected by the ‘Bleat’ deer call signs are the listed animals: white-tailed deer, black-tailed deer, mule deer and sika deer. it has a range of 164.04 yards, a duration of 90 seconds, and a pull force of 50. trust me, it’s not really 90 seconds, so don’t worry, you won’t have to sit there for more than a minute, I think it can be measured in milliseconds.

Predator “Jackrabbit” Caller

Next on our list is the Predator “Jackrabbit” Caller. This calling device has a range of 218.72 yards, a duration of 90 seconds, again, not 90 seconds, but 40. It attracts about 100 animals, but I’ll name them anyway. red foxes, coyotes, Eurasian lynxes, jackals, gray foxes, gray wolves, lions, peccaries, Mexican lynxes and Iberian wolves, if not more.

Last on our list is the caller roe deer. It is designed for both male and female roe deer. But roe deer do not live in Lake Leighton, but in Hirschfeldon. Roe deer range is 218.72 yards, fire duration is 90 seconds, shot power is 40.

Binoculars 8×42

Let’s move on to binoculars. The 8×42 binoculars are the first binoculars you start with. They are used to detect animals until you gain the Sight skill.

Odor Eliminator

Finally, there is the odor eliminator. The odor eliminator reduces the intensity of the odor. You can see where your scent is at the bottom right. The green cone is where your scent goes. Here you can also see your sound and visibility.

The difference between soft point bullets and polymer point bullets.

To be honest, this is a pretty simple question. Polymer tips provide great penetrating power. It should be used if the animal is large and you need it to hit vital organs. The only problem with polymer tips is that they don’t make the animal bleed as much. But this is where the soft spot comes into play. If you need a lot of blood loss, then soft points will do. Remember that a bullet cannot enter an animal either. This is because it expands when it hits the animal.

Shot staging

So, first you need to know where to shoot. I’ll show you good places to shoot. Some of them will reduce your score, usually a shot to the skull or brain. This is a common trophy organ.

This article was originally written in English, and I do not know Spanish, so now I use a translator. The images are in English, so I will translate them and tell you where to shoot.

DLC

This game has a lot of DLC. They range from dogs to guns, night vision goggles, portable structures and all-terrain vehicles. We will talk about useful ones, their pros and cons. First we’ll talk about the different cards.

First of all, I would recommend purchasing various cards from the very beginning. It just adds a whole new perspective and unlocks new rewards and money. You will learn a little more about this at the end. Either way, the different cards just give the game a special flavor that you won’t get from other cards. It gives a completely different atmosphere, it’s like entering a New World with new animals and landscapes. It also adds more hunting options and even more ways to earn the best in-game cash listed for the region, including weapons and other items from unique and cool missions and campaigns.

Let’s move on to quad bikes. ATVs are a big help. This dlc will help you navigate the map, explore it, and maybe even climb mountains if you’re bored. I suggest doing this to pass the time and bring a tent with you. Sometimes I climbed to the highest points and put up tents there just for fun. Later I will add a section on things to do to pass the time. In any case, back to the topic. All-terrain vehicles can be adapted to any need. This includes pushing to pray, other tactics like pushing into a corner and just shooting animals, just rolling around, setting yourself on fire after approaching water, and just exploding for no reason, ancient failure if it still works, which is pretty similar. that your neck is broken, or moving from point a to point b.

Next, we’ll talk about portable structures. Portable structures are another necessity. Portable dlc structures come with tents, bipods, tree stands, blinds and everything else you might have forgotten. The bipods are more like tree stands, but there are no trees, and you just sit on a big ladder that you sit on and pray to God that it doesn’t wobble. Now let’s talk about tree stands. The name says it all: it’s a metal platform that you sit on and it rides up a tree. Horsefly is a large camouflage canopy with windows through which you can hunt. And a tent is more or less a portable base of operations, and somehow it’s possible to shove a damn SUV into a container or into the tent’s secret garage underneath that we don’t know about.

The next need is a bloodhound. It’s just salvation. This saves you the hassle of trying to track down an animal that leaves tracks every mile. Instead, you simply command your precious detective dog to lead you to the precious trophy of your magnificent harvest. It can also track the prayer when there is no more blood, it can be a pain in the ass sometimes, however, the dog will sit in front of you when the deer is watching you and you go to aim, the dog runs away, the game does not allow you to shoot. Buck runs away. Sometimes when tracking, especially if it is a tracking prayer, he will run in circles and you will have to push him. This really annoys me, and I want to throw the dog off the cliff, because the deer or whatever it is stalking will go further and further away. Anyway, The dog is sometimes imperfect and can be a hell of a lot of fun. I definitely believe that a dog is a salvation. Note that the dog can only track blood. It is very important. Also hold the b button to use the scroll wheel to control the dog.

The next thing we’ll talk about is high-tech DLC. I remember that he only had night vision. I have no idea what else, I completely forgot. You can check it out.

Let’s move on to the additions for weapons. In truth, it’s fun to play without the weapon dlc. This is because weapons are free and can give you a huge advantage. It’s much more fun to just play without using it and just grind for fun. Weapons are free, but ammo is not. However, most handguns can cost around 20K in cash and getting one for free is just plain fun.

Useful Codex menus.

So first, even to get to the Codex menu, you must first press escape and go to the Codex. Here you will see all the cards. You will also see the hunter, hunter’s log, wildlife, training log, and mission items.

First we’ll talk about the Hunter dropdown menu. If you click on it, you will see 5 options: profile card, hunter profile, world, game statistics and leaderboards. If you open the profile card, you can see a lot of data.

This data includes the Steam user, game level and XP, including the XP needed to level up, how many skills you unlocked in stalker and ambush, how many perks you unlocked and in which sections, and finally weapon ratings. Weapon Points is the number of points, or stat, you have in a given weapon type. To unlock various items for a given type of weapon, a certain amount is needed.

Let’s move on to the hunting profile. In this section, you will see how many crops of a certain range you have, how many animals you have scared off in various ways, your shots, including the number of hits and misses, your accuracy with each type of weapon, and your longest shot that hit a vital organ.

Moving on to the next important thing in the codex, the wildlife tab. In this dropdown menu you will see all the animals in the game. In it you will also find statistics about them and everything you need to know about them in order to hunt this animal.

The next important thing if you are a beginner is a study journal. This will tell you about some of the basics and features of the game. The rest is mostly stats about some of the things you did on other maps. I suggest you explore the “Code” tab to see if there is anything else you would like to know. It has everything you have collected and all the different things. Then, if you just want to look at your progress at some point, just look at the code.

Animal Species on the Start Map, (Lake Leighton)

  • Types of deer: white-tailed deer, black-tailed deer, elk (interestingly, elk belongs to the species of deer).
  • Moose Species: Roosevelt Moose.
  • Small “animals” such as coyote and white-tailed hare.
  • Birds: mallard
  • Bear: black bear.

What weapons and ammo should be used for the various animals in Layton Lake.
To be honest, just look in the codex to see what animals are listed there. You can get a lot of information and even stuff that I didn’t cover, like where they hang out. Over time, you will remember it. If you follow an animal for some time, you begin to recognize it. For example, I hunted buffalo a lot in Hirschfeldon and knew what I was doing.

Remember, practice makes perfect.

Stalker skills that you should improve and how much you should improve them. Here we will talk about the skills of a stalker. Remember that you can only reach level 60 and only get 22 skills and perks in my opinion. Correct me if I’m wrong in the comments. In general, what skills do you need to get for a stalker and how many times they need to be improved. However, keep in mind that different people use different tactics, so some of them may not work for you. But I will tell you mostly only about the mandatory or very useful ones.

  • Find clues: 3
  • Track knowledge: 3
  • Soft feet: 2 (max.)
  • Improvised Blind: (maximum if you want to improve visibility)
  • Endurance: (Maximum if you run a lot)
  • Connect the dots: (if you want tracking to be easier and more accurate in a way)
  • I’m only happy when it’s raining: (mostly on rainy and foggy maps if you don’t want to be easier to see).

Emboscador abilities.

  • Odor Remover: (1 if you want to unlock more skills, but I suggest 2 for the best odor remover).
  • Knowledge in intelligence: (maximum)
  • The more the merrier : (maximum if you like challenging missions like me)
  • Fatal Attraction: (maximum if you like using calls to lure them in, which is what I recommend).
  • Pack Mule: (Be sure to take it, it’s extra weight you can carry without extra sound or increased visibility, very useful).

All other items can be obtained if you wish, it depends on your playstyle, but some are required to make the game easier.

Weapon Benefits

Rifles

  • Muscle memory: (maximum, achieved as quickly as possible)
  • Breath control: (maximum, makes aiming easier)
  • Confident Hands: (max level also makes this even easier)
  • Zeroing: (Get it, it’s useful, but you need to know the range before shooting so it’s as close to the animal as possible, Max also advises getting a rangefinder).

Advantages of firearms.

  • Spring & Charging: (Max)
  • Survival Instinct: (max)
  • Fast feet: (only if you are using a weapon)
  • Lightning Arms: (Maximum for best reload speed, better than being attacked by a boar and waiting 10 minutes to recharge and then die.)

Shotgun Advantages

  • Quick Load Shoulder: (Useful for quickly changing weapons and other things)
  • Recoil management: (good if you want even better recoil)
  • Tracer Shot: (only if you want to see spread with shotguns)

Finally, the benefits of archery.

  • Full draw: (as much as you want, depending on how often you use the bow)
  • Move and shoot: (useful for reducing hesitation when moving with any weapon, again of your choice).
  • Processing: (Depending on how often you use onions, it may be helpful if you use onions.)
  • As a pro: (useful if you use a bow, but again, depending on if you use a bow).
  • Iron Leveling: (again useful if you are using a bow, choose how much to upgrade).

Please note that some perks make it possible to use all weapons, so check them before buying and choose wisely, otherwise you will have to pay $$$ to reset the purchased perks and abilities.

Getting XP

Getting xp is pretty easy. You get it by completing quests, finding storehouses and other hidden items, creating hunting posts with your money, visiting and interacting with green question marks on the map, gaining outposts, visiting and interacting with watchtowers, and finally collecting animals.

In my opinion, the best way to get xp is by completing quests and campaigns, it’s worth it. Also hunting, which is the goal of the game, is pretty good.

Getting cash.

To be honest, there are several ways, and there are some very good ways. I get money by doing quests/campaigns, it gives good xp and good money, I use it to level up and so on. You also get money by collecting animals, and that’s pretty much it for getting money. Please let me know if there are other ways and I just forgot.

Missions / Campaign missions.

Campaign missions and tasks are a good way to grind. Some campaigns and stuff even give weapons and stuff, so it’s really useful and it’s a way to level up and stuff, so I suggest doing it a lot. It’s also a fun way to pass the time.

Your next free map, Hirschfelden

Next, you’ve probably completed your campaign and what you didn’t do with the first map, Layton Lakes. You might want to upgrade to the next free card if you haven’t already purchased it. You arrive in Hirschfeldon, Europe. There are many sub-regions here.

Regions Subregions

  • Hirschdort; Schoenfeldt Ratenfeldt
  • Koenigsberg; Spreberg-Petershain
  • Hirschfelden; Ritterstein Müllerwald
  • Rotwald; Jonsdorf-Bohndorf
  • Rinderland; Tichenau-Ernsdorf

Now we’ll talk about species and the class of species.

  • Class 1: Canada goose and European rabbit
  • Class 2: Red fox
  • Class 3: Roe deer
  • Class 4: fallow deer, wild boar
  • Class 5: No
  • Class 6: Red deer
  • Class 7: No
  • Grade 8: No
  • Class 9: European bison

Now let’s talk about how many missions this reserve has. Currently, there are 75 quests in the reserve: 25 main and 50 side ones. Now let’s talk about good hunting animals.

First on my list is European bison . It was my favorite hunting animal. They are slow and you can just run and still get them. I hunted them with a bow. This animal is a lot of fun to hunt and it’s like getting free money if you have the right equipment. Remember that bison are aggressive and can attack. But if you get a good chance, and if not, then it’s just money and free XP.

The next one is the red fox . To be honest, it’s very annoying. They feel you from a distance. The best chance is just to sit on a tree. This animal really pisses me off and I hate them to be honest. I am pleased to shoot an arrow into their little brain. I suggest leaving them alone.

The next species is Canadian goose . Just go to a field with hay bales, set up some baits, use the bell to get a gun and .243 soft point bullets and get good XP and money. I have never hunted these animals here. For this you need DLC. But I know it gives good money and XP. If you want to do this, get the Wild Goose Chase add-on.

The next one is European rabbit . To be honest, I never hunted them, but they are practically free money and xp since they die for almost everything. If you just want to grind, do it. I don’t know how much money or xp, but I know it’s easy Prey.

Next – roe deer . This is an absolutely stupid animal. It is more or less white-tailed, but with tiny horns and easy to kill. They are very easy to hunt.

Next on our list is the doe . They are quite difficult to get, as they leave no traces and have a good sense when performing a task. It was a hell of a sight trying to get it in a certain area. I had to bait one and pray for it to get into the mission area. I needed to get 2, and I wanted to throw my PC off the bridge, run over it, set it on fire, run over it again with a tank, and then blow it up. Basically it’s just a sadistic development mission. In general, hunting is difficult, but not crazy.

Wild boar, a good way to grind. Pretty easy to kill. One day I was sitting in a tree and got about 4 and they still kept coming.

Red deer. can be a thorn in the neck as they have good HP. They are quite simple and are a good routine. I suggest hunting them as they are good for unlocking things, getting money and XP.

You will need bells: a bell for a roe deer, a bell for a predator ” Jackrabbit ” for a sadistic fox who obviously makes life hell on wheels, a bell for antlers, a bell for a boar (or a pig, I forgot, maybe a bell for a boar). Call to the red deer. You don’t need to call the bison because they are “so aggressive”. It would be nice to have one because they are not that aggressive. It’s like chasing a damned land whale, it’s not very fast and you can run and find it. They live in pine forests and things like that, so find them, they’re like a money machine and an XP machine in one.

Where to beat these animals. If you don’t have the best weapon for this animal, try using a heart . The lungs work too. The heart is just an instant drop, but so is the brain. The heart is just a way to get an animal without lowering your score. I suggest choosing the heart or the lungs. Brain is the option if you just want Rambo and don’t care about your money or XP earned.

End (if I don’t get more information, etc.).

If you think I should add more, let me know in the comments and if I had any spelling errors (which for some reason I can’t write at the moment and my brain is on system shutdown for grammar ) And don’t forget to give your feedback, Ideas and more so I can follow this up as I’ll be checking the comments. Also, if you liked it and find it useful, don’t forget to share, like, etc. so newbies can use it to their advantage. Of course, including players who just want a few tips. Also let me know if you liked it, or any other comments, all comments will be read.

I would also like to say thank you for everything that has grown during this time. Every time I look at this guide, I’m glad to see that so many people have seen it and probably enjoyed it. I’m also very pleased to know that some people liked it. This shows that people are learning new things. Thank you for your support and for helping so many people with this guide in just 4 days, thank you very much. Again, please comment if I need to add anything.

Have a good day!
