In order to create a map in Minecraft, you will need a few things:

1. Paper — You can make it from reeds that can be found near the water.
2. Compass — you can make it from iron and redstone.

How to create a map:

1. First you need to create paper. To do this, place a cane in any of the crafting slots and get paper.
2. Next, create a compass by placing the iron in the center of the crafting slots and the redstone at the bottom.
3. The next step is to create a map. Place the paper in the center of the crafting cells and surround it with eight pieces of paper.
4. You now have an empty card to fill in with information. To do this, hold it in your hands and right-click.
5. To save a card, place it in any inventory slot and press the «Q» button. Now you have a card that can be placed on the wall or given to another player.

Please note that the map only saves information about the places you visited after the map was created. If you want the map to show a larger area, you will need to explore more locations.
