New patch Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Vanguard

The last season of the multiplayer game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming to an end, and the final patch for it will pave the way for Call of Duty: Vanguard. The first Vanguard season will begin on December 8th, but the new patch will be released a bit earlier on December 6th. The new patch will include updates to the Prestige system, including new levels, as well as challenges for the .410 Ironhide and Grav assault rifle, as announced by Treyarch on Friday.

The biggest change in this patch is that all military ranks and prestige levels will now be synchronized with Call of Duty: Vanguard. Previously, your rank in all games (except Vanguard) matched your rank in Black Ops Cold War. After the update, your rank in Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare will be synchronized with your rank in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and progress earned in any game will count towards that rank.

The patch will also add a feature in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to display lifetime prestige, where you can see how many times you’ve prestiged in both games and in Vanguard.

The new patch also adds challenges to unlock the .410 Ironhide shotgun and Grav assault rifle in both multiplayer and zombie modes. Completing the respective challenges will unlock the weapons. Another minor change in the weapon patch is a slight nerf to the Marshal’s damage balance by reducing its range and increasing its damage drop-off.

All these changes are part of the Call of Duty patch scheduled for December 6th – that’s when the changes to the zombie mode will take effect, but the rest of the changes won’t be in effect until the start of the new season on December 8th. This patch is released by Treyarch, the developer of Black Ops Cold War, but it’s possible that Vanguard developer Sledgehammer will also release a significant patch next week, primarily aimed at balancing the game with the start of its first real season.
