Counter-Strike 2: coming soon. Release date March

Counter-Strike 2 is almost ready for release and has even been tested by a hidden group of professional esports players who were smuggled into Valve’s headquarters in Seattle.

A source for Richard Lewis said making the game was a priority for Valve. The project includes people who have been involved in the development of previous versions of the Counter-Strike franchise. This, they say, should explain why certain issues with CS:GO have gone largely unaddressed for some time.

I still can’t believe it, but apparently it’s not a dream. Richard Lewis wrote a great article where he told a lot of interesting information about Counter-Strike 2:

  • Anonymous sources close to the developers of the game have confirmed that a new version of the game is on the way and will be called Counter-Strike 2.
  • The beta test will begin in March, no later than April 1st. A group of pro players who secretly came to the Valve office have already tested it.
  • Creating a new game was a priority for the developers. It also included members who had already developed past versions of CS.
  • The authors want to start a beta test, fix all the bugs and bring the game to the level that the community expects.
  • The game will be based on the Source 2 engine, servers on 128 tickrate, a new selection system in matchmaking.

Esports plans are still unknown. Will CS2 exist in parallel with CS:GO and when will tournament operators switch to a new game. The journalist has not yet received answers to these questions.
