Before I even explain the situation, I want to make it clear that none of us support war or any other words you might want to use for what’s going on in the world right now. It’s terrible and I think every sane person would have that opinion, so of course the same goes for me and my team.

The first situation that we as a team intervened was this photo (photo in the post) We returned to the hotel (after the match, I think), and when we were about to take the elevator to our training room, several guys in the lobby asked us to take a photo. As always, we said yes, we are always trying to give our fans back any little gesture for them. Since we were caught out of the blue, we were not as knowledgeable as we should have been. What I saw was a polite guy wrapped in a flag asking for a photo. The flag was upside down when he wrapped it around himself and I noticed an eagle-like figure, so I thought it was the Serbian flag (pictured in the post), which didn’t matter to me at the time.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you guys that we are a bunch of nerds just trying our best to compete and have a good time, political conflicts are way beyond us and honestly I didn’t even know Serbia was in any conflicts.
Obviously now, after the episode, I regret that we took the picture, because the team and I would never want to be involved in political conflicts.

Now, regarding the situation in Katowice, at one of our autograph sessions, another peace-loving dude comes up to us to take a picture. This time around, being at the signing session and learning from the first episode, we were a little more aware and I made the decision not to take any chances with flags or any other symbols that might indicate political leanings. I politely told him about the situation and said that if he wanted to, he could take a picture without a flag. We had a lot of people waiting in line so I helped him by placing a flag on the table right next to us while taking pictures. I didn’t think much about it and still don’t think anyone did anything wrong in this situation. Now post this after the mod has done it,

The last thing I want to touch on is people who hate Russian and Ukrainian players, who have good relationships, who take pictures together at events and so on. Stop following these people. They have nothing to do with what’s going on, and if anything, I think it shows faith in humanity, that we can see beyond that as normal people and still have good relationships, because the difference is not where are you from or what do you look like. but if you are a good person.

This tweet is written by me and only me, this is my view and experience of situations. I may not be good with words and I’m sure someone will find a way to turn this into something with bad intentions, but we can never please everyone and there will always be a vocal minority that you will strive to get.
