maxster to stand in for hampus at BLAST Premier Spring Groups
The Young Ninjas player will fill in for Ninjas in Pyjamas in their series against Natus Vincere.
Ninjas in Pyjamas has announced that academy player Max “maxster” Jansson will stand in for Hampus “hampus” Poser, who is also expected to miss out on the rest of the group stage, in NIP’s BLAST Premier Spring Groups bout against Natus Vincere at 16:00 .
The Swedish organization did not mention a reason, beyond hampus suffering “unforeseen personal circumstances,” although it is understood that it could go beyond just one match day as Ninjas in Pyjamas stated that they expect to provide an update before the start of the IEM Katowice Play-In.
hampus had been struggling in the group stage, with a 0.82 rating in the team’s five maps played in Copenhagen, before the temporary substitution was announced. Now maxster will step into the 24-year-old’s shoes in a rematch of NIP’s opening match against NAVI, which the Swedes lost 2-1, albeit now in the group stage’s consolidation final and with a spot in the group stage final against G2 on the line.
The academy player will get a shot at first team action after almost a year in Young Ninjas, which he joined in March 2022. During his time in the youth Squad he was a part of the team that finished 5-6th at the WePlay Academy League twice before notably going on to win it in the competition’s sixth season.
