Minecraft Pocket Edition 1.16

The Nether Update was announced back at Minecom 2019 with Nether Update. Version 1.16 turned out to be “fucking cool” and is already available for Android devices.

What’s new in this version and what will Minecrafters be especially happy about? Let’s take a look at the key changes that this global Nether Update has brought.

piglin

A mob that spawns in the Crimson Forest located in the Nether.

Peculiarities:

• attacks the Hoglins;
• goes hunting in groups;
• he likes gold;
• does not attack a character wearing golden armor;
• if the character opens the chest. golden armor will not help him;
• picking up the gold, Piglin begins to examine it;
• the mob can change different goods for gold;
• hides from the Fire of Souls;
• getting into the Upper world, it turns into a Pig Zombie;
• can play with baby Hoglins;
• can open any kind of doors;
• 25% chance to encounter a baby Pigglin.

Hoglin

Also spawns in the Crimson Forest of the Nether, and is found in groups of 4 mobs.

Peculiarities:

• throws the character up during the attack;
• has an increased attack radius;
• can reproduce with the help of crimson mushrooms;
• hides from distorted mushrooms;
• upon death, leather and pork are dropped from it;
• in 25% of cases you can meet a baby Hoglin;
• if you touch the cub, he will start to run away.

Netherite

New material that:

• does not burn in lava (like all objects from it);
• for the first time in 10 years took the championship from the diamond;
• allows you to improve tools and armor, increasing their durability;
• can be used in a lighthouse.

How to get Netherite:

1. find fragments of Netherite in the Nether;
2. break them with a diamond or netherite pickaxe;
3. smelt them into Netherite Scrap;
4. By adding 4 Netherite Scraps to 4 Gold Ingots, you can get a Netherite Ingot.

New hellish biomes

New biomes have been added to the Nether, and now you should better explore the updated Hell.

Soul Sand Valley

This biome should be considered the most dangerous. From all sides it is shrouded in a thick turquoise fog. The biome burns with a blue flame. In its open spaces you can find the following structures:

• Fossils;
• Basalt stalagnates.

In the biome, you can meet such mobs as: Gasts, Skeletons and Endermen.

crimson forest

A red biome that is also found in the Nether. In it you can find a large number of crimson mushrooms of a huge size. Piglins and Hoglins live here. There is a red mist around the biome.

warped forest

Biome of Hell, which has a turquoise color. In it, just like in the Crimson Forest, you can find a large number of distorted mushrooms of a huge size. Endermen live here.

Fire and soil of souls

New blocks are also in the update. Let’s consider them in more detail.

Soil shower:

• in its appearance resembles the sand of souls;
• does not slow down the movement of the character;
• the fire on the soil of souls begins to burn with a blue flame.

Soul fire:

• its functions are identical to ordinary fire;
• but, deals damage twice as much as ordinary fire;
• appears if you ignite the soil of souls;
• generated in Soul Sand Valley;
• never goes out.

Target

A mechanical block that reacts when hit by an arrow or a trident. Can create a signal from the redstone.

Other features:

• the closer to the center the hit is, the higher the signal level will be;
• the maximum signal level can be 15 units.

Other innovations

In addition to all of the above, the Nether Update brought the following changes to the game:

• Zombie Pig Man is now simply called Zombie Piglin;
• if the Pig is struck by lightning, it no longer turns into a Zombie Piglin;
• many new types of trees have appeared in the Nether;
• spawning is now possible in the Nether.
