The release of Meinkraft 1.8 caught many fans of the famous sandbox by surprise. After all, like only just a release was 1.7, in which the developer has implemented a lot of interesting things (spawn cats and pandas, new rules of the game, etc.), and then it goes 1.8.

What’s new in Minecraft 1.8.0

Among the innovations of the version – changes in the behavior of the mobs, innovations regarding additions to the game, as well as a new block:

It’s nice that pandas in Minecraft 1.8.0 will be not only good, but also bad. You’ll have to feed them with bamboo, which is located in hidden chests scattered throughout the vast jungle. It will also allow you to tame them, which makes the game even more interesting.

Cats are spawned in villages. You’ll have to tame them with fish, which must first be fished out of the lake. Also, the cats have the unique feature – they can scare the ghosts. That is the latter will not attack the character if there is a cat near him.

Updated commands

Game commands, implemented by the developers, now activated without any cheats. That is, they do not affect the achievements earned by the player in the game:

• /gamerule showcoordinates;
• /gamerule dofiretick;
• /gamerule tntexplodes;
• /gamerule domobloot;
• /gamerule naturalregeneration;
• /gamerule dotiledrops;
• /gamerule pvp.

Fixes of known problems and bugs

In the 1.8 release, the developers have tried to eliminate the causes of game crashes, as well as said that they were able to fix about 50 different bugs that are very annoying to gamers:

• Fixed game crashes while applying buckets of lava on fish;
• planted crops no longer skip neighboring blocks;
• tame wolves now tilt their heads at the sight of a piece of meat from a character;
• if a sign breaks, different types of trees are no longer displayed;
• in Tile Drops and Creative modes, blocks now fly off in different directions after an explosion;
• after a character gets on a boat, his direction no longer changes;
• fixed the display of water inside the barrier blocks;
• black blocks no longer appear while the character is moving on horseback;
• players can no longer see through solid blocks while swimming;
• rails can no longer be duplicated;
• the developers have fixed a lot of bugs concerning player achievements;
• the loading time of the game files has been significantly reduced;
• the direction of the character in the boat is completely redesigned (even if he has a bow in his hands);
• Shalker’s box with buckets for fish from the tropics now does not provoke lags.
