In the game SAND, players find themselves on the abandoned planet of Sophie, in the DESOLATE wastelands, embarking on a search for resources and treasures. To effectively navigate this harsh terrain, players are given the ability to design and modify their own Tramplers, walking mechs capable of traveling across islands that were once submerged under a vast sea. TRAMPLERS
The Trampler serves as the player’s main base, as a means of exploration and storage of loot. Players can customize their Tramplers – from interior design to enhancing their power, armor, and weapons. Collaborate with other players to pool your resources and create the perfect mobile base in a vast open world.
STORY
In an alternative historical version of 1910, humanity made significant breakthroughs in space exploration thanks to the discovery of new energy sources. The Austro-Hungarian Empire led the way in conquering other planets, but a mysterious ecological catastrophe befell the planet Sophie, forcing settlers to hastily abandon what was once a resource-rich world. Driven by desperation, the bravest and most destitute individuals from the empire set out for the planet Sophie, seeking to test their fate, discover hidden wealth in barren wastelands, and radically change their lives.
CHARACTERS
The game’s characters hail from Galicia, a region within the Austro-Hungarian Empire predominantly inhabited by Ukrainians and Poles. In the early stages of colonization, the Kaiser promised Galicians a significant portion of the planet Sophie, enticing them to become the primary workforce for constructing cities that would eventually belong to them. Despite the ecological catastrophe, the allure of owning their own cosmic territories proves difficult to resist. The most resilient and desperate Galicians, who have little to lose, resort to semi-legal means to reach the planet, driven by their desire to rectify historical injustices and claim what they consider their rightful inheritance.
