Diablo Immortal: A Game Review That Will Leave You Spellbound
«Diablo Immortal» – a newcomer in the mobile gaming industry, a role-playing game developed by NetEase (in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment) in the action genre. It is currently in development but is set to release at the end of this year on iOS and Android platforms. This is the first game in the series to make its way to mobile devices. Plot
According to the developers, the events in the game will take place in Sanctuary (a fictional game world) during medieval times, five years after the events of “Diablo 2”. Back then, the Worldstone was destroyed. One of the major changes in the game is the list of characters: new characters will replace the heroes from the previous installment. As for this, there is still little information: a character named Skarn will become the main villain and boss, the right hand of the mighty Diablo.
The events in «Diablo Immortal» will unfold over several years. While the Worldstone was completely destroyed, small fragments of it remain, radiating immense power. It’s enough power to resurrect Diablo – Skarn’s main mission and that of his army. The goal of the forces of good, in turn, is to prevent this from happening. This, in essence, is the main reason for the conflict between these two forces.
Classes
The developers have introduced six character classes into the game, which will be available from the release of «Diablo Immortal». They also don’t rule out the possibility of adding more classes during gameplay, making the game even more interesting over time. Each of the classes will possess three unique abilities:
- Monk. This hero can inflict highly effective and dangerous damage thanks to his strikes, as he is a true master of his craft;
- Barbarian. A strong and cool-headed fighter who wields his weapons with maximum efficiency;
- Crusader. You can rely on this character’s faith, which will help withstand the onslaught of enemy forces;
- Wizard. The game’s magical wizard. His abilities involve turning magical tricks into physical reality (such as ice, lightning, or fire);
- Necromancer. A character who can control resurrected monsters and manipulate life and death;
- Demon Hunter. This player will be most effective at long range, armed with a deadly crossbow.
When the game is released, even then we’ll see that there’s plenty of variety in terms of character classes. You won’t have to commit to just one. The choice will be yours. Play with what you like.
Gameplay
Right from the start, the game will feature raids with a player count ranging from 4 to 10 players. This series will, of course, retain elements such as the real health and stamina system of the hero, hack-and-slash combat, random item drops, and much more. New additions include various quests and raids, collecting numerous trophies and rewards, a world divided into character zones, and more. In general, the game will be packed with magic and all sorts of sorcerous wonders. This isn’t surprising, as most MMO games include these elements.
Multiplayer Mode
At this point, we don’t have exact information about the game modes and their quantity, but the developers assure us that there will be plenty of them, and the game will always offer something to do. It’s also clear that you’ll need to team up with other players to complete various tasks and missions. In addition to the standard leveling up of your hero, various elements, and weapons, you’ll be able to create new items and trade them. As in the previous version, all game elements will have multiple levels of upgrading: from simple to legendary or epic.
