The cult action-shooter series received a long-awaited sequel back in 2004. The story of DOOM 3 is a remake or reimagining of the original Doom series. So, Mars. The year is 2145. A military-industrial corporation has established a research facility for in-depth exploration of teleportation, biology, and military innovations. The Marine Corps deploys troops on Mars to ensure security. All these experiments ultimately open the gates to hell, leading to a catastrophic demon invasion. The player, as a space marine, will have to clean up the mess.
Doom 3 has always been known for its intense action, a plethora of unique weapons, and relentless enemies. The sole objective of each level is simply to survive while collecting codes and keys to progress to the next location. Throughout the game, players are provided with a collection of 10 types of weapons, ranging from ordinary shotguns and pistols to experimental and powerful ones. Many enemies from previous Doom games make a return in Doom 3 with updated designs, offering both close-quarters and long-range combat.
Level design in Doom 3 primarily focuses on creating an atmosphere of fear. Among the game’s new features is the inability to use a flashlight simultaneously with weapons. Players will have to utilize all available resources to survive. Doom 3 still looks impressive today and is available on various popular platforms!
