Microsoft bribed a US senator to back the deal
Microsoft bribed a US senator to support the deal. You can see something like this heading in many sources, but this is yellowness.
The story is that lobbying is officially allowed in the US. This is when a business/businessman/stakeholder supports a senator or member of congress with money to promote his interests in the government. And the idea is that this is normal and no one will promote anything obviously bad. And here is exactly the same situation, she has been in the government since 92 and T-shirts have been supporting her for a long time.
Her initiative in the deal is to test Sony’s arrangements in Japan. Obviously, the company has done a lot to become the market leader in Japan and many things are very uncompetitive. But on the other hand, Nintendo feels great there and does the same. But Microsoft has not understood the specifics of the market for a very long time. And in general, the United States should have nothing to do with this.
So do not let yourself be fooled, this is not a bribe or a bribe. Sony quite realistically has someone in Congress who is lobbying for their interests.
