Blizzard wants to know if players are willing to buy “skins” in Overwatch 2 for $45

As you know, the second part of Blizzard’s team shooter Overwatch 2 will be released in the fall. So far, the beta test is underway, and players will learn that Blizzard, after abandoning the use of loot boxes, is actively looking for other options for monetizing the free-to-play game – including through surveys.

So, one Twitter user shared the information he learned from his friend playing the beta — Blizzard offered him to take part in a survey on how much money he was willing to spend on “cosmetics” in Overwatch 2.

As we can see in the screenshots, Blizzard wants to know the reaction of players to the price of $5 for three sprays or $45 for a “mythic” skin – which, if you think about it, is the cost of a regular non-AAA game. Needless to say, you can already find more than one lively discussion of the state of affairs in a game that isn’t even out yet. One can only hope that Blizzard learns from this reaction and adjusts its Overwatch 2 monetization plans accordingly.
