Tamagotchi Uni: A New Era of Virtual Pets with Wi-Fi and the Metaverse!

Tamagotchi Uni by Bandai Namco is not just an ordinary Tamagotchi-style toy that was popular in the 1990s. This toy can connect to the Tamaverse, as described by the company, which is a metaverse of the Tamagotchi world.

Now fans can play together in various games such as Tama Arena, Tama Party, Tama Fashion, and Tama Travel, gaining access to global entertainment. Tamagotchi Uni connects to Wi-Fi and can meet with other Tamagotchis from around the world. However, unlike other metaverses like Meta’s Horizon Worlds or Epic Games’ Fortnite, there is no direct communication between players.

Tamagotchi Uni can also be used as a watch and comes with a wristband. The toy is already available for pre-order on Amazon, with an official release date set for July 15th.

In recent years, Bandai Namco has been trying to revive the popularity of Tamagotchis. In 2017, they introduced a new version of the toy, and in 2021, they released a virtual pet in the form of a watch. Last year, they also introduced a baby Yoda version. However, currently, one of the top games in this genre is the mobile game Peridot by Niantic, the creators of Pokémon Go.
