Psychonauts 2 Release: First Reviews and Interviews with the Creators

On August 25th, the long-awaited sequel to the legendary platformer Psychonauts will finally be released. The internet is buzzing with discussions about the first reviews, gameplay recordings of the sequel, and interviews with the project’s creators.

Double Fine Productions has already released a trailer for Psychonauts 2. In the sequel, the character Razputin Aquato is no longer in school; he joins the organization of “Psychonauts.” Of course, his work is not without its challenges. The game introduces new monsters and villains who are not so easy to deal with.

On the Game Informer channel, there is a recording of the main parts of the game’s demo playthrough. The main character embarks on various adventures, discovers double agents in the Psychonauts’ headquarters, battles villains, and actively overcomes difficulties.

Reviews of the Psychonauts 2 game agree that fans of the project have definitely been waiting for a sequel for a good reason for sixteen years. They will be pleased with the deep storyline, interesting locations, and the opportunity to use psychic abilities more in combat.

Tim Schafer emphasized in one of the interviews that it was a pleasure for him to gather all the narrative hooks from the original game and create a full-fledged sequel based on them. He also compared Psychonauts to the TV series “Back to the Future.”
