The latest update in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is something that fans of the game cannot ignore. Let’s start with the description of the new plasma cannon. You can find this new item in chests, whether they are regular chests or supply chests. The cannon has a charge capacity needed to launch plasma balls, up to five in total.

So, what’s so special about these cannons? The answer lies in their mechanism of action. Each plasma ball, resembling a large blue sphere, constantly moves forward, surrounded by a special electric field or dome. All enemies caught within this field suffer significant damage from the cannon and get knocked back. This effect also applies to enemy vehicles. By the way, if enemies stay within this electric field created by the cannon’s charge for an extended period, they will continuously take damage.

When it comes to structures, the developers have made sure that this cannon instantly destroys buildings. In addition to finding it, you can also craft the cannon yourself. Now, all you need to do is combine the alien nanobot with a legendary pistol to create it. One shot from the plasma cannon equals one plasma ball, though at times, it may appear as if there are two. However, if you have multiple plasma cannons, you can switch between them and unleash a barrage of plasma ball shots simultaneously.

In addition to the weaponry, let’s take a look at the “unusual ship” that is literally hovering over the incident area. The nature of this object is not entirely clear at the moment, although the developers will likely reveal its mystery and purpose in the future. For now, this ship seems to pose no immediate threat.

By the way, it’s worth reminding players that the “competitive mode” has once again seen the return of the Cowinator, but the plasma cannon is not available in this mode.
