Dataminers Leak New Operator and Maps for Warzone Season 5, Cold War

Just a quick reminder that the character, “Raiz (Shadow),” got leaked in the exact same manner during Season 3. Even the images were of the same format. On another note, I have a hunch that the new operator from Perseus’ team might sport a mask resembling Otter, as seen in the teaser. However, there’s a possibility it could be an alternate skin. But overall, this operator looks like someone who will be wearing a Japanese Otter mask. He’s wielding a Tec-9, an automatic pistol, likely Akimbo.

More Details from the Leak

The key operator’s name is Kitsune, possibly a codename. The season’s theme revolves around Japan. It’s intriguing; who doesn’t love a Japanese theme? The Tec-9 is an automatic pistol, probably Akimbo, judging from the artwork. Two other operators are named Kingsley and Surge, but these could also be codenames. Where’s Mason?

  • Weather Station – It’s Summit, but under attack.
  • A straightforward 6v6 Summit map will also be available.

Regarding perks for zombies – PHD or Double Tap, but that’s old news.

New Perks in Warzone

Remember, they teased these perks earlier, and there’s a good chance they’ll roll out in Season 5, although I’d wager it’ll coincide with COD 2021 integration.

The first update – Awareness or High Alert will counter dead silence. But what about the other two completely new, Warzone-exclusive perks?

Nothing’s confirmed, but there’s a theory about one of them. Lightweight – it boosts movement speed by 10%. This guess comes from the specialist who provides all perks (and all MW weapon perks) already giving you a 10% speed boost, even though such a perk doesn’t exist. I’d say it’ll be part of the initial drop, making the choice between it and Engineer quite challenging.

How do you feel about this? Additionally, dataminers have found 12 more maps for Cold War. According to them, the Cold War code hints at an additional 12 multiplayer maps (excluding fire/multi-team).

This is intriguing because we typically get three maps per season, and Cold War clearly won’t get a sequel. Furthermore, I believe the Black Ops series won’t see new installments. Treyarch will develop new Call of Duty titles, but not under the Black Ops banner—at least, that’s my guess.

This aligns with rumors that CW will become the most supported Call of Duty title after the release of the new installment. This also dovetails with murmurs that the expectations for COD 2021 aren’t sky-high, leading back to speculation about CW support and the simultaneous release of MW2 MP Remastered. But we’ll have to wait and see.

We’ll get all the answers on August 12, 2021, when Warzone Season 5 launches.
