Multiplayer for Call of Duty 2021

Renowned insider Jeff Grubb recently revealed that the multiplayer component of the upcoming Call of Duty game is plagued with numerous issues. As a result, the primary multiplayer focus will shift to MW2 Remastered. This development essentially reshapes previous, debunked rumors, offering a fresh perspective on what to expect.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time such a strategy has been employed. When “Infinite Warfare” was released, it was accompanied by the launch of “MW1 Remastered.” While it’s not explicitly stated as a fallback plan, the pattern seems evident.

Call of Duty 2021: News and Rumors

Today, Battle.net introduced an alpha for COD 2021, codenamed “Slipstream.” While it’s likely a working title, the term “Slipstream” refers to the airflow (or water flow) behind a vehicle, reducing fuel consumption and enhancing maneuverability.

Interestingly, enthusiasts quickly discovered a pilot’s guidebook with the same title. Moreover, a BBC series named “Slipstream” delved into an alternate reality where World War II continued beyond 1945. This aligns intriguingly with early rumors suggesting COD 2021 might explore an alternate historical context.

Insights from the COD 2021 Alpha

While the alpha remains largely under wraps for internal use, a few details have surfaced. It appears the final title will be “Avantgarde.” Additionally, select players, likely on PlayStation platforms, will have access, mirroring the approach taken with Cold War.
