The Callisto Protocol’s Failure.
The Callisto Protocol’s failure: The horror game, The Callisto Protocol, from the “father” of the Dead Space series, didn’t meet the expectations of the Korean publisher KRAFTON. It will be challenging for the game to break even with a budget of around $160 million.
Prior to its release, the publisher aimed to sell 5 million copies, but after a problematic launch, they lowered their expectations to 2 million. As a result, KRAFTON’s stocks plummeted.
One of the reasons for the weak sales was the disastrous PC release, which suffered from terrible optimization and bugs, resulting in overwhelmingly negative reviews from gamers.
Recently, a modder brought Leon from Resident Evil 2 into The Callisto Protocol’s horror world – you can see the quite impressive result in an 8-minute video.
