A remake of The Witcher on the new Unreal Engine 5

The official announcement came out from the legendary studio CD Projekt RED – work on the remake of the beloved by many gamers game The Witcher. The game will be on the engine Unreal Engine 5 from Epic Games, an updated version of which was released recently, in mid-2022.

The studio said that the work goes with Fools Theory, the development will practically from scratch, which means a simple transfer to the new engine will not happen. Thanks to the new technologies Lumen and Nanite, we can assume that the Witcher fans will have not only a new interpretation of Sapkowski’s works, but also an impressive gaming experience.

The project is still in its early stages of development, so there is not much information at the moment. The developers asked to be patient, more information will come soon.
