New Update in CS2: What’s Fresh?

On November 3, 2023, the development team rolled out another update for CS2, bringing a plethora of intriguing changes and enhancements to the gameplay. This update is already available for download, and its size is approximately 3.0 GB. Let’s dive in together to dissect what this update has brought to the table.

Workshop Capabilities Expansion

Users can now upload their CS2 maps directly to the workshop, and community servers have been granted the ability to host workshop maps. Moreover, various updates have been made to workshop tools, making the process of creating and maintaining maps even more convenient and functional.

Bug Fixes and Combat System Improvement

The developers have fixed instances where weapons fired faster than intended, and where players couldn’t save their weapons between overtime rounds. Also, cases where thrown weapons fell out of the game space have been corrected, which could previously create inconveniences during the game.

Knife Attack System Overhaul

Now, knife attacks will prioritize enemies, hitting teammates only if there are no enemies nearby. This change is aimed at improving team play and reducing instances of accidental damage to allies.

Performance and Interface Enhancement

The performance of player animations on both the client and server side has been improved, which should positively impact the overall gaming experience. Various minor HUD errors have been fixed, and the material of the smoke grenade casing has been changed to chrome, adding to the visual diversity.

Other Changes

Among other changes, an error has been fixed where the ping on the scoreboard could get stuck at a value lower than the real ping. Also, now decoy grenades aesthetically interact with smoke grenades, and the “Contrast Enhancement” feature will no longer apply to dead players. The threshold value of the microphone voice has been adjusted, which should improve communication within teams.

The update also brought fixes for various skin and sticker bugs, making the gameplay even more comfortable and enjoyable.
