The Fableverse 2.0.0 Update (Big Update!)

Overview

Hi all! I’m happy to be sharing a big update to the game, which offers new mechanics, content, and overhauls a few of the previous mechanics in order to make room for the new ones.

New Content

  • 8 New Fables
  • 2 New Legendary Fables
  • 11 New Achievements + Changed 2 Achievements

New Mechanics

  • Garden – Inspired by classic idle games, grow a garden and upgrade it, building up your Lumin supplies, which you use to summon legendaries. Legendaries can no longer be found in the trader.
  • Soulstones – During training, everytime you beat a fable, earn it’s Soulstone which can be utilized to summon that Fable and capture it.
  • Trainer Level – Your character now has it’s very own level, which you get a portion of XP anytime your Fables do. This system replaces how you earned legacy previously and now is earned each time you level up.
  • Trainer Specialization – At the start of your run, you will get to choose a specialization, which offers starting upgrades to get you started.
  • Magic – Utilize materials found from exploration to craft and upgrade staffs which provide bonuses to all the mechanics. Utilize the breeding staff to influence breeding or the magic staff to cast spells and automate completing your Fabledex
  • Guidebook – This will link to the official wiki I am building for the game. I didn’t have time to start it, but I’ll be focusing on this now that the update is done.

Quality of Life

  • Change Fable filter to be a Search vs. a Dropdown, with auto-fills
  • Multi-Releasing from the Fable Storage tab
  • Removed Decimals from Fablecoins in the minerals section
  • Changed ‘???’ to what Trainer Level you need to unlock different tabs on navigation

Removed Mechanics

  • Time Stones – I’m looking to redo offline progress in the future. Time Stones were wonky and I’d like offline progress to somewhat simulate what the Fables are doing when you log off
  • Trader Coins – Magic now is the main source of refreshing or extending the trader shop, which now includes a way to automatically extend the shop
  • Achievium – The upgrade system was overhauled and achievium also felt wonky. Usually when you were getting it, you were essentially in the end-game, beating the game.
  • Fabledex Bonus – Similar to Achievium, I don’t think another boost is necessary, especially with the new mechanics (magic).
  • Hidden Level – Was a vanity thing, but caused confusion.

Mining Changes

  • New Toggle for hiding stats and information, as a compact mode
  • Added An additional 6 mining slots to be upgraded to
  • Start with 2 mining slots available
  • Remove the 4 profit rocks that do nothing, but confuse players and are a time wall essentially

Trader Changes

  • No more Trader Coins for Extending & Refreshing
  • Traders can offer augments instead of standard Fables
  • Remove Level requirement on the trades
  • Remove the two Legendaries from traders (Obtained through Legendary Reactor now)

Training Changes

  • Added Toggle for hiding stats and information, as a compact mode
  • Added An additional 2 training slots to be upgraded to
  • Added Change the location to your desired location
  • New Toggle for Auto-Changing Locations once you hit the level requirement
  • New Collect Soul Stones mechanic based on the rarity of defeated Fables (See Summoner Mechanic)
  • New Passive free auto-heal if you can’t afford the heal or don’t have auto-heal toggle activated (the one that costs money)
  • Nerf incoming damage to make training more early-game friendly
  • Buff experience gain from Training a bit, to make it faster
  • Increase Health costs slightly (there’s a new free auto-heal)
  • Change so auto-heal only happens when you are at zero health instead of any time you lose health
  • Change Fables in Locations so it’s 3 new Fables in each location + 1 repeat

Breeding Changes

  • Change Breeding formula changed to 30% chance for highest stat, 25% chance for average, 20% chance for lowest stat, and 25% for completely random
  • Some way to influence things through artifacts or resources
  • Genetics Lab now called Gene Modification, now uses magic potions instead of timestones. You can now also change spirits with potions.
