Among Us Developers Sarcastically Comment on Fortnite’s Similar Game Mode

Recently, in the world of Fortnite, a new game mode was announced, titled “Fortnite Impostors.” Interestingly, this mode bears a striking resemblance to another popular game – Among Us. The developers of Among Us quickly noticed this resemblance.

This new mode is essentially a battle between agents and impostors. The agents are tasked with defending the bridge, while the impostors’ goal is to seize it. At first glance, there may not seem to be much in common, but upon closer examination, you can spot similarities, especially in the moments where impostors pretend to be agents.

The developers of Among Us reacted to this fact somewhat bluntly. They pointed out that their game mechanics are available to everyone but also advised incorporating something original into the new mode, rather than blatantly copying elements from Among Us.

After some time, the programmer Gary Porter found similarities between the game maps. He stated that the Fortnite map doesn’t differ significantly from the one presented in Among Us. Indeed, when looking at the Fortnite map, it gives the impression that it’s the same map as Among Us, with some minor location adjustments.
